What is lusutrombopag?
Lusutrombopag is a man-made version of a protein that helps your body make more platelets (blood-clotting cells). Lusutrombopag can reduce the risk of bleeding by increasing the number of platelets in your blood.
Lusutrombopag is used to treat thrombocytopenia (a shortage of platelets in the blood) in adults with chronic liver disease who are about to have a medical procedure.
Lusutrombopag is not a cure for thrombocytopenia, and it will not bring your platelet counts back to normal.
Lusutrombopag may also be used for reasons not mentioned in this medication guide.
