What is M-Dryl?
M-Dryl is an antihistamine that helps with sneezing, a runny nose, watery eyes, hives, skin rashes, itching, and other cold or allergy symptoms.
M-Dryl is also used to treat motion sickness, help with sleep, and address certain symptoms of Parkinson's disease. This sleep aid is not for children younger than 12 years old.
There are many brands and forms of diphenhydramine available. Not all brands are included in this leaflet.
M-Dryl may also be used for other reasons not mentioned in this medication guide.

How should I take M-Dryl?
Use M-Dryl exactly as directed on the label or as your doctor prescribes. M-Dryl is meant for short-term use until your symptoms go away.
Taking too much M-Dryl can cause serious heart issues, seizures, coma, or death.
Always follow the instructions on the medicine label when giving M-Dryl to a child. Do not use this medicine just to make a child sleepy. Misusing antihistamines in very young children can lead to death.
For motion sickness, take M-Dryl 30 minutes before you expect to be in a situation that could cause motion sickness (like a long car ride, flying, boat travel, amusement park rides, etc.). Continue taking this medicine with meals and at bedtime while you are in a motion-sickness situation.
As a sleep aid, take M-Dryl within 30 minutes before going to bed.
You must chew the chewable tablet before swallowing it.
Measure liquid medicine carefully. Use the dosing syringe provided or a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).
Take an orally disintegrating tablet out of the package only when you're ready to use it. Place the tablet in your mouth and let it dissolve without chewing. Swallow several times as it dissolves.
Contact your doctor if the condition you are treating with M-Dryl does not get better, or if you have a fever along with a headache, cough, or skin rash.
Do not use M-Dryl for more than 2 weeks for sleep issues, or more than 7 days for cold or allergy symptoms.
M-Dryl can impact the results of allergy skin tests. Inform any doctor treating you that you are using M-Dryl.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical help or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222. Taking too much diphenhydramine can be deadly.
Signs of an overdose may include vomiting, confusion, extreme sleepiness, ringing in your ears, not urinating, very dry eyes and mouth, dilated pupils, rapid heart rate, shaking, restlessness, hallucinations, or seizures.
Avoid driving or doing anything dangerous until you know how M-Dryl will affect you. Your reactions might be slowed down.
Drinking alcohol can make some side effects of diphenhydramine worse.
Check with a doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine that might have M-Dryl in it. This includes medicines for sleep, cold or allergy symptoms, or anti-itch creams for the skin. Taking too much of this medicine could result in a fatal overdose.
