Revcovi
Generic name: elapegademase
What is Revcovi?
Revcovi is a man-made version of an enzyme called adenosine deaminase (ADA). ADA plays a key role in the body by stopping the buildup of certain proteins that can harm the white blood cells, which are important for fighting infections.
Revcovi is used to replace ADA in adults and children who have adenosine deaminase severe combined immune deficiency (ADA-SCID).
ADA-SCID means there is not enough immunity to infections that usually wouldn't make a healthy person sick. Some infections (like pneumonia, chronic diarrhea, or serious skin rash) can be very serious or even deadly for people with ADA-SCID.
ADA-SCID can also slow the growth or development of infants or young children who have this condition.
Revcovi may also be used for reasons not mentioned in this medication guide.
